Ruiz, 24, pleaded guilty Oct. 6 to shooting her husband, Luis Manuel Beltran, a corporal stationed at Fort Bliss, at their home on the post Jan. 16 in an effort to prevent a divorce, according to court documents. She apologized for her actions during her sentencing hearing and said she still loves Beltran.
